About Nova

Nova Adams is a Canadian author with a soft spot for unconventional love stories and well-deserved happy endings. Aside from spending time with family and friends, her favorite things include: writing, traveling, and eating chocolate. In a perfect world, she’d be doing all three at the same time.

Some Random Facts:

I write Contemporary Romance. However, I love exploring love across genres. Mystery, Fantasy, and Horror are my other creative passions.

I enjoy photography and travel—preferably together. I like learning about quiet, forgotten places that hold loud stories. If you went on a trip with me, I’d squeeze your hand on the plane and then rope you into visiting a unique (and probably abandoned) location.

I watch a wide range of TV and films, but I’m especially drawn to dark, cerebral plots that keep me on the edge of my seat with lots of twists and turns. My friends make fun of me for always guessing dialogue and endings, so you probably wouldn’t enjoy marathoning anything with me.

Though I read a wide range of genres, i’m particularly drawn to stories that offer thoughtful mental health representation and celebrate diversity and inclusivity.

One of my favorite tropes in media is enemies-to-lovers. I don’t dare write it, though—I’d be tempted to make the main characters too stabby to be redeemable.

My childhood was filled with new classrooms, countries, and continents. I’m great at "Hello”—not so good at “Goodbye"“. Which is probably why one of my current WIPs is 140,000 words and counting..

My schedule consists of working a full-time day job, raising a couple of humans, and writing at night. Sleep and I are currently not on speaking terms.

I’ve been trying (and failing) to break up with coffee for two years now. See above.

I have really bad vision (congenital cataracts, strong astigmatism, the works). My contacts are only made by a single company in France. Super fancy. My migraines are less fancy.

I like parentheses. Not in my writing work—just in emails. I’m sure you’ve noticed, but I’m also into em-dashes.

I love connecting with readers, so please don’t hesitate to contact me!
